A desire to share Christ with people in their neighborhoods and around the world. A passion for ministry programs that reach out to people in a new and different way than ever before. A vision of the next generation hearing the Gospel message. Members of The Hoffmann Society have these three things in common.
They are not necessarily wealthy, and they may not be ordained or commissioned church workers, but they realize the importance of sharing the Gospel message with people around the world. They know that their support of Lutheran Hour Ministries and their membership in The Hoffmann Society is a way to be involved in ministry.
The Hoffmann Society is a group of more than 3,000 dedicated Christians who have provided for Lutheran Hour Ministries beyond their own lifetime through a planned gift. Donors who have given a planned gift, such as a Charitable Gift Annuity, Charitable Remainder Trust, Life Insurance, or stock gift, donors who have established a named endowment fund, and donors who have LHM listed as a beneficiary on their will or trust or insurance policy are all eligible to be members of The Hoffmann Society.
Members of The Hoffmann Society stay engaged and informed about ministry through a letter called The Hoffmann Society Voice from LHM President & CEO, Kurt Buchholz. The Voice features ministry highlights and news that members should hear. In addition, members of The Hoffmann Society are recognized at the International Convention of the International Lutheran Laymen's League held every other year.
Oswald Hoffmann served as Speaker of The Lutheran Hour from 1955 to 1988. During his decades of ministry work he presented the hope and truth of the Gospel to millions worldwide. Members of The Hoffmann Society are honoring and continuing this work of pointing people to the cross, in their own lives and beyond.
